Volunteer at the Night of the Refugee!
The Night of the Refugee relies on volunteers. We need enthusiastic people who can help make this an unforgettable experience for thousands of participants. Ten, twenty or forty kilometres: these are considerable distances and many participants need the support of our volunteers to complete the course. Make it even more fun: volunteer with a friend, a sibling, colleagues or a neighbour!
What to expect?
We will take good care of you during the Night of the Refugee. Your efforts are worth a lot to us! We can promise you a fun Night full of positivity and beautiful encounters. Prior to the Night, the volunteer coordinator will be available for any questions you might have. This person will also listen to your wishes so that you can be allocated to a suitable place. During the Night you will always have a contact person and any travel expenses you might make will be refunded.
We need around 500 volunteers for the tasks below:
LOCATION TEAM
Helping build up and dismantle locations, like rolling out the yellow carpet, hanging up beach flags and signs, etc.
Handing out safety vests
Pouring coffee and tea at resting locations
Stamping start cards
Receiving participants at the finish
HELP TEAM
Collecting participants who can’t complete the course
ROUTE TEAM
Setting out the routes with arrows, especially during the day on Saturday 17 June and/or be head or finish walker
Traffic controller: directing traffic at various points on the route.
